ALEXANDRE DOSTIE
Born in rural Quebec, Alexandre is a self-taught artist with an eclectic background. A published poet, booze-bruised punk singer, and filmmaker, his first short film, Mutants (2016), traveled to over 100 festivals and won numerous prizes including Best Canadian Short at TIFF. The film was also selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick, garnering close to 700K views. His latest offering, I’ll End Up in Jail (2019) has screened at TIFF, Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, and Tampere, and was named Best International Fiction by the Vimeo programming team for their unofficial jury awards at Sundance 2020. Alexandre is currently working on his debut feature, SHAPE.
