LUIZA COCORA

Luiza’s award-winning performances on stage, as well as on the small and big screens, made her a sought-after actress in her home country, Romania. After she immigrated to Canada, she earned her BA in film production at Concordia University while continuing her acting career. She has since directed two short films, Our Remaining Lives (2015), and If This Isn’t Love (2018), both of which premiered at TIFF. Luiza is currently developing Fake Empire, her first feature, which is backed by Telefilm, Sodec, SACD, and the Harold Greenberg Fund. In 2019, Luiza was awarded the inaugural two-year playwriting and theatre production residency organized by the Centre des auteurs dramatiques (CEAD), the Conseil des arts de Montréal, and La Serre—Arts Vivants.
